A 62-year-old street food vendor was stabbed to death by a man when he refused to serve him "choley kulchey' following a dispute over payment in west Delhi's Sultanpuri area here this morning, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Kashi Ram who was stabbed five times by Gurmeet (28) who is wanted in several criminal cases.

According to police, Gurmeet went to Ram's shop for eating "choley kulchey" at around 10.35 AM but Ram refused to serve the food when Gurmeet wanted to make the payment later, which angered him. He then took out a knife, stabbed Ram five times and fled from the spot, said a senior police officer.

Ram was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police arrested Gurmeet, who has several criminal cases registered against him, from his house, the officer added.
