Coming down heavily on bus conductors of State Roadways, who usually give toffees to passengers in lieu of the balance amount of Re one or Rs two, the Haryana government today said strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
Strict action would be taken against those conductors who would not abide by the instructions, Haryana's Minister of State for Transport, Karan Dev Kamboj said here today.
Kamboj said that he has written a letter to Additional Chief Secretary, Transport Department and directed to inform General Managers of Transport Department in all districts regarding the instructions.

"The solution for loose change would soon be found out," he added.
He said that a number of complaints had been received that conductors have made it a common practice to give toffees in lieu of the balance amount to the passengers.
The Minister said that for majority of the population that travels through buses value of Rs one or Rs two is important.
"Directions have been issued to immediately stop this practice in Roadways buses," he added.
Kamboj also said that complaints have been received regarding the bus drivers stopping their buses at private restaurants and hotels where the passengers have to pay fatter amount and eat whatever is being offered.
"The transport department has directed the bus drivers to stop their buses only at government tourist complexes," he said.
Besides this, passengers and conductors found smoking inside the buses would be strictly dealt with, the Minister said.
