BJP's newly appointed UP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya today warned of strict action against those who depict him as God in posters or hoardings, days after posters appeared in Varanasi showing him as Lord Krishna and his rivals, including Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, as Kauravas.
In a statement here, Maurya appealed the workers that he should not be depicted or compared to God in hoardings, banners and posters.
He also warned of stern action against those who put up such objectionable material.
The Varanasi posters had stoked a controversy prompting the BJP to say it had nothing to do with it. The poster depicted Uttar Pradesh as Draupadi being disrobed by the Kauravas.
