The Uttarakhand state employees, who are on strike in support of their various demands, today rejected the appeal of the government to join work.

As many as 2 lakh state employees are staying away from work for the past ten days demanding provisions of three mandatory promotions and pay revision.

Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar had appealed to the employees to call off their strike, an official release said.

He had directed the finance and personnel department officials to go through the demands of the employees.

Kumar was told that a meeting to discuss the demands is scheduled for October 29, but employees said they would continue to strike work until a government order is issued on their demands.
