student was arrested for allegedly attempting to kill a man along with his uncle and two friends in north-west Delhi, police said today.
Pawan, who is doing MA from Kurukshetra University through distance education, was apprehended in connection with the murderous attempt on on Ravi Prakash in Shalimar Bagh on June 10.
"They also allegedly burnt the victim's motorcycle. The motive was to show their power and rowdiness in colony," P Karunakaran, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West), said.
During interrogation, he claimed, Pawan told police that one of the accused Ravi Kumar is his uncle and the victim was Kumar's close friend.
Kumar called Prakash along with other friends Sandeep, Sanjay and Pushp Kumar and had alcohol in the parking of the colony.
"After having drinks Kumar abused Prakash saying he is the 'dada' of the colony and he should accept Kumar's supremacy in the colony. When Prakash opposed him, all of a sudden Kumar and others, including Pawan beat him up.
"Pawan and Kumar allegedly hit bottle of beer on his head while Sandeep stabbed him. Sanjay and Pusp Kumar caught hold of injured Ravi Prakash," Karunakaran said.
