Continuing their protest against the controversial four-year undergraduate programme in Delhi University, members of various student bodies today held demonstrations outside the residence of the vice-chancellor, Dinesh Singh, demanding immediate rollback of FYUP.

The protesters raised slogans against the VC and demanded immediate rollback of the FYUP. Members of one Krantikari Yuva Sanghtan (KYP) also burnt the effigy of the VC.

"Delhi University's VC is playing with the future of students. University should immediately scrap FYUP and start admission process under the three-year undergraduate programme," ABVP's national secretary Rohit Chahal said.

Holding placards, the students also shouted slogans against the Delhi University's administration.

"We will not accept FYUP at any cost because it is not according to our national education policy," Suresh, member of INSO, said.

As several students groups -- ABVP, INSO, NSUI and KYS -- gathered outside Singh's residence, police tightened security and erected barricades and diverted traffic to another road.
