Rohit, a class five student of a MCD school, was living with his mother and two younger brothers in Pandav Nagar for the past few years. His father had passed away earlier.
Police said the minor was found hanging from the fan by his mother, who works as a domestic help in the area.
The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. No suicide note was recovered, police said.
