Student from Arunachal beaten, forced to lick shoes

A student from Arunachal Pradesh has been allegedly beaten and forced to lick his house owner's shoes for using excessive water, a top police official said here today.

"A student from Arunachal Pradesh was beaten and the police is investigating into the student's claim that he was forced to lick his house owner's shoes for using excessive water," DCP (South East) Dr M B Boralingaiagh told PTI here.

The house owner has been identified as Hemanth Kumar, he said, adding, a case has been regisitered following a complaint from Higio Guntey, a fourth-semester student of Christ University, Boralingaiah said.

The incident took place on March 6 and the case was registered yesterday, he said.
 

Kumar has surrendered and the police are investigating the case, Boralingaiah said.
