A polytechnic student today went missing in the Bay of Bengal off Sagar Sangamam coast near Hamsaladivi in Krishna district, police said.
A group of 16 polytechnic students from Nagayalanka Polytechnic College had come a picnic to Hamsaladivi. While they ventured into the Bay of Bengal, one of the student was swept away by heavy currents and got washed away, said Avanigadda Circle Inspector SVVS Murthy.
The missing student was identified as M. Anilkumar (17). A search operation has been initiated to trace him, Murthy said, adding a probe was on.
