A student was killed while his friend was injured when an excavator hit the motorcycle they were riding from behind near Ashok Vihar here today, police said.
Sanjay Chumber (27) succumbed to injuries at a local hospital. The condition of his friend, Amandip Singh (26), is stated to be serious, SHO (Sadar) Surinderpal Singh said.
The accident occurred when they were going to GNA University. The driver of the excavator is yet to be arrested he said.
