The body of a Jamshedpur-based student who was pursuing her graduation from a city college was recovered from the bathroom of her hostel in the southern part of the city, police said today.
The police recovered the unconscious B A first year student after a call from the hostel authorities late last night and eushed her to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead, a senior Kolkata Police officer said.
''We suspect that the girl was under severe stress as she had scored low marks in her Hindi paper. She appeared to have committed suicide by hanging herself using her dupatta. We are probing into the incident,'' he said.
No suicide note was found, he said adding that family members of the student have arrived in the city.
