Student suffering from 'progressive myopathy' meets Mamata

All that Payal Khanra, a student suffering from 'progressive myopathy' had ever wanted, was to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Her long-cherished dreams was realised today.

Payel, a second year Mathematics (Hons) student of Harimohan Ghosh College in Garden Reach area was present at a function, where Banerjee felicitated the rank-holders of Higher Secondary and Madhyamik (Secondary) Examinations this year.

A resident of Akra in Maheshtala area of South 24-Parganas district, Payel had gradually been afflicted with paralytic syndrome, but never stopped continuing her education.

Concerned with her daughter's sufferings, Balaram Khanra was trying to assist Payel with his modest means.
 

When her attention drawn towards Payel's plight, the Chief Minister went and greeted her with a bouquet despite her pressing schedules.

A visibly happy Payel said, she had never expected the CM to be so caring.
