Press Trust of India Coimbatore
A section of plus-two students of Corporation Higher Secondary School in the city today boycotted classes seeking action against a teacher after she reportedly advised a boy not to mingle with a scheduled caste student, police today said.

Police said the student allegedly misbehaved with teachers and one of them advised a boy in her class not to talk to him by naming his caste.

The boy did not talk to him for a couple of days and then informed his friends following which parents of the student came to the school and lodged a complaint.

After hearing this, some students boycotted classes and sought disciplinary action against the teacher and also the Head Mistress for keeping the issue under wraps, police said.

The students returned to their class room, after senior police officials arrived there and assured them that action would be taken in the matter.
