Students of an engineering college in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district today celebrated Teacher's Day in a novel way by donating blood.
Starting a new tradition on Teacher's Day, students of Gopeshwar Institute of Technology here donated blood in the campus besides organising a seminar on the role of students in voluntary activities.
Speaking at the seminar, the insititue's Director K K S Mer asked the students to draw inspiration from the life of Mother Teresa, whose death anniversary falls today, and engage in social service.
More than 50 students of the district's only engineering collge voluntarily registered for the blood donation programme.
