Students from J-K leave for edu-cum-motivational tour

23 students of schools from bordering villages of Poonch today left for an educational-cum- motivational tour of the country during which they will visit places including Delhi and Agra.

"They will visit science and cultural museums, historical sites and would meet many civil and military dignitaries at New Delhi," Defence Spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.

The tour sponsored by the Indian Army shall provide an excellent opportunity to the children to visit the national capital, Taj Mahal, schools and other educational institutes.

The spokesperson said the children sounded very enthusiastic on their first train experience of the 'Rajdhani Express' and visit to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate, among other places, on their itinerary.
 

He said that the children also pledged to participate in the national campaign of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' and will carry the message for a clean and beautiful India.

"This initiative is yet another step undertaken by the Indian Army towards highlighting the importance of peace and development in the state to these young minds which shall immensely benefit from such experiences," he said.
