Students of the government-run Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Bhusaval in the district observed a hunger strike for the last two days to protest the quality of chapatis provided by school authorities.

They called off the strike this evening after a sub-divisional magistrate talked to them and assured that the grievance would be addressed.

The students said the school had of late bought a chapati-maker machine which produced undercooked and uneatable chapatis.
