Over 1,000 students belonging to the SC and ST community were provided with books, stationaries and school bags by a power distribution company here today.
The assistance was extended by Tata Power under its 'Ujjwal' initiative during an event at a government school in outer Delhi's Badli.
Students selected under the scheme are constantly monitored and mentored by the company so that they do not drop out and improve in their educational performance instead, a TPDDL statement said.
Till date, the programme has benefitted over 5,000 students through scholarships and 15,000 students through career counselling support, it claimed.
