Students' performance on Rajpath wowed crowd

Dance performance of school children impressed the crowd that had gathered to watch the 68th Republic Day parade at Rajpath today.

Students from South Central Zone Cultural centre, Nagpur, and Delhi schools like Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Mount Abu Public School and Kendriya Vidyalaya impressed the crowd with their energy and vigour in the dance performances.

Almost 165 students drawn from the Nagpur-based centre performed the Saila dance, that is a popular dance of the Gond Tribe of Dindori district in Madhya Pradesh.

They were followed by a group of 150 girls from Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Chirag Delhi, whose coordinated dance moves and expressions on a song evoking patriotism won a huge round of applause from the crowd.
 

The students of Mount Abu Public School, Rohini presented a performance on the Assamese dance style Sattriya that celebrates the human existence and the presence of a supreme power.

Almost 162 students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pitampura followed them with a dance performance that highlighted how our National Flag has been witness to the glorious tales of freedom fighters and democracy.
