Terming as "discriminatory" the Delhi government's draft scheme for regularising guest teachers in its schools, around 500 students today held a protest at Delhi Secretariat demanding a common test for all those eligible for the job.
"We want a common test for those eligible for the job. This policy is discriminatory and against the right to equality," said president of Delhi Future Teacher Association (DFTA) Dheerah Sharma.
The agitators, who had been protesting since 9 am, were called in for a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia at 2 pm but the later was not available in his office.

The Delhi Government has made a draft scheme for regularizing guest teachers in its schools public and invited comments.
The scheme 'Regularisation of Guest Teachers of Directorate of Education 2015-16' is being offered as a "one-time measure".
As per the provisions of this draft policy those who served as guest teachers in government schools during 2014-15 and for at least 90 days in any one year of 2012-13 and 2013-14 are eligible for the scheme. They will have to clear an exam conducted by the Delhi Subordinate Staff Selection Board (DSSSB).
