A day after over 400 students of Kankinara High School were disallowed by the Calcutta High Court for the Class X board examination from Monday, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today intervened to resolve the matter.
Banerjee said that she had spoken to the officials of the West Bengal Secondary Education Council and the education department to issue admit cards to 410 students who were not registered with the Council.
She said that since these students were not registered with the Council they were not issued admit cards.

The students had been asked to fill up the requisite forms tomorrow at the Council's office and a special centre at Bidhannagar Municipality School at Salt Lake had been earmarked for them for the examination.
The chief minister said that the decision had been taken purely on humanitarian grounds keeping in mind the students' career.
