Sub-engineer arrested while taking bribe

The Sagar district Lokayukta police today caught a sub-engineer with the Rajnagar Janpad Shiksha Kendra red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000.

Shivram Nagoria, the accused, had allegedly demanded Rs 30,000 for allotting funds for the construction of two toilets at a Government primary school, Ghoonchu, according to the complainant, assistant teacher Lakhan Lal Adivasi.

Lokayukta inspector K K Agrawal said that Nagoria was caught while accepting Rs 10,000 as the first instalment from the teacher.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered.
