A Delhi Police Sub-Inspector was injured in a road-rage incident when he was allegedly attacked by three men over not giving them way in a congested bylane of Ghazipur area of east Delhi, police said today.

Deepak Pandey was attacked when he was returning home on his motorcycle last midnight after finishing his duty in east Delhi, said a senior police officer said.

In a bylane near his house, two men on a scooter picked up a fight with him over not giving them way, he said, adding the SI had asked them to wait as the lane was narrow and there was no space to give them way.

The duo then called their a friend and the trio, who were in an inebriated state, hit him on the head with a stone, the officer said.

The injured policeman made a PCR call and was taken to LBS hospital. Police later detained two accused and was questioning them for arresting the third accused, he added.
