A sub inspector was killed and three people were injured when their car hit an electricity pole in a bid to avoid a collision with an SUV here, police said today.
SI Yadunath Shukla (43), posted at Bidhuna police outpost in Kanpur, was yesterday going to Chitrakoot with constable Parmanand and two people when the mishap took place in Attara area here, they said.
While Shukla died on the spot, the three injured were rushed to a hospital where their condition was stated to be stable.
Police is probing the matter.
