Sub-Inspector succumbs to road mishap injuries

A police sub-inspector, whose motorbike was hit by a car in southeast Delhi's Govindpuri area, succumbed to his injuries today.

The incident happened on January 16 when Navneet Kumar, who was posted at Govindpuri police station, was going somewhere on his motorbike in connection with investigation of a case, said a senior police officer.

He had lost a leg in the accident and had sustained severe head injuries, he added.

Today, he succumbed during treatment, he said.

His bike was hit by a car from the front side. He suffered severe injuries including head injuries.

The offending vehicle had been traced and the driver, Prakash Garkoti (44) who is a resident of Govindpuri, had been arrested.
