A sub-inspector was suspended for allegedly taking bribe and releasing a tractor-trolley involved in illegal land mining in Barsana here, police said today.
"Unknown persons had filed a complaint against Nandgaon station incharge, sub-inspector Balbir Singh for partiality following which he was suspended, however, the truth is, the tractor-trolley was challaned," Barsana SHO Uday Pratap Singh said.
The complainants, whose names have not been disclosed, approached Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Agra, Mahesh Kumar Mishra following which he instructed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to take action against the sub-inspector.
The whole matter will be clear after the investigation, for the time being, the sub-inspector has been removed, Singh said.
