Subhash Ghai meets J&K Governor

Noted filmmaker Subhash Ghai today called on Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra to discuss an upcoming film festival and sought support for the promotion of theatre, TV, film and literature artists in the Valley.

A delegation of White Walls Media comprising Film Producer and Director Ghai and one of the founders of 'Great of Indian Film and Literature Festival' Divank Rastog, met Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here, an official spokesman said.

He said the delegation apprised the Governor about the projected GIFLIF-Kashmir edition which will be held in Srinagar and sought support for the promotion of theatre, TV, film and literature artists in the Valley.
 

Vohra assured the delegation that he will take up the matter with the state government and suggested the delegation to consider making movies that reflect culture, heritage and struggle for freedom which could help generate awareness about the state's historical diversity and traditions of tolerance and pluralism, the spokesman said.

The Governor also advised the delegation to involve local art, literature, music and folk theatre groups in their endeavour.
