SUCI walks out of Assembly protesting against police action

The lone SUCI MLA Tarun Naskar today walked out of the West Bengal Assembly protesting against the alleged lathicharge by the police on a peaceful procession organised by them in front of the House's north gate.

While speaking against a bill moved by the Trinamool Congress in the Assembly, Naskar raised the issue of alleged lathicharge on their peaceful procession.

The SUCI activists demonstrated near the Assembly's north gate demanding re-introduction of pass-fail system and steps against assault on women.

Naskar said that 63 of their members, including 27 women, were arrested of whom six persons were injured and later admitted to hospital.
