Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today inaugurated the Sufi Mahotsav (festival) at Kako in Jehanabad district of Bihar.
Eminent singers Salma Agha, Ehsan Qureshi and Kamal Khan are participating in the function organised to commemorate the famous Sufi culture prevalent in Bihar during the medieval times.
Manjhi listened to Sufi songs sung by the artists on the occasion and said, "Such songs are prayers to God. They touch the deepest parts of the heart and soften it so that the qualities of humanity, truthfulness and empathy for others increase.
Kako is also famous for the tomb of Sufi saint Bibi Kamal. Manjhi went there before inaugurating the festival and prayed for peace and welfare of the people of Bihar.
