Sugar decline on lower demand

Both varieties of sugar declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to lower demand from stockists and retailers amid reduced millers offtake.

Medium sugar (M-30) slipped by Rs 20/10 per quintal to Rs 3,592/3,762 from Thursday's close of Rs 3,612/3,772.

Small sugar (S-30) also fell by Rs 8/13 to Rs 3,522/ 3,662 from Rs 3,530/3,675 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,592/3,762 (Rs 3,612/3,772).

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,522/3,662 (Rs 3,530/3,675).
