Sugar declines on ample stocks

Sugar saw a fall of up to Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following huge stocks position on persistent supplies by millers amid scattered demand from retailers.

Marketmen said heavy positions of ready stocks in the market following persistent supplies by mills mainly weighed on sugar prices but some demand from retailers restricted losses.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices eased from Rs 3,020-3,260 and Rs 3,010-3,250 to Rs 3,020-3,215 and Rs 3,010-3,200 per quintal.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices slipped to Rs 2,850-3,065 and Rs 2,840-3,050 from Rs 2,870-3,110 and Rs 2,860-3,090 per quintal.
 

In the millgate section, Simbholi lost Rs 50 at Rs 3,050 per quintal and Kinnoni dropped by Rs 45 at Rs 3,065 per quintal.

Prices of Asmoli, Budhana and Thanabhavan moved down by Rs 30 each at Rs 3,030, Rs 2,970 and Rs 2,960 per quintal.

Meanwhile, sugar Mawana, Ramala, Dorala, Sakoti, Baghpat, Chandpur and Nazibabad shed Rs 20 each at Rs 3,000, Rs 2,880, Rs 3,000, Rs 2,930, Rs 2,890, Rs 2,930 and Rs 2,870 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 32.00-35.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,020-3,215 S-30 Rs 3,010-3,200.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,850-3,065 S-30 Rs 2,840-3,050.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,000, Kinnoni Rs 3,065 Asmoli Rs 3,030 Dorala Rs 3,000 Budhana Rs 2,970 Thanabhavan Rs 2,960 Dhanora Rs 2,960 Simbholi Rs 3,050 Modi Nagar Rs 2,940, Khatuli Rs 3,055 Dhampur (gila) Rs 2,850 Ramala Rs 2,880 Bulandshahr Rs 2,960 Anupshahr Rs 2,860 Baghpat Rs 2,890 Morna Rs 2,890 Sakoti Rs 2,930 Chandpur Rs 2,930 and Nazibabad Rs 2,870.
