Sugar saw a fall of up to Rs 30 per quintal in its prices at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased supplies by mills amid limited offtake.
Marketmen said the fall in sweetener prices was mostly attributed to ample stocks following increased supplies by mills against limited demand from stockists and bulk consumers.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 30 each to settle at Rs 4,100-4,200 and Rs 4,090-4,190 per quintal, respectively.

However, mill delivery prices ruled flat at Rs 3,665- 3,860 and Rs 3,655-3,850 per quintal, respectively.
In the millgate section, sugar Simbholi, Khatuli, Chandpur and Shamli fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,820, Rs 3,830, Rs 3,720 and Rs 3,750 per quintal.
Prices of Dhampur too were down by Rs 15 at Rs 3,725, while Budhana, Thanabhavan, Dhanora and Sakoti lost Rs 10 each to Rs 3,770, Rs 3,765, Rs 3,780 and Rs 3,730 per quintal, respectively.
