Sugar declines on muted demand

Sugar prices eased at the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today owing to slackened demand from retailers and bulk consumers against sufficient stocks.

Traders said easing demand from retailers as well as bulk consumers against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from mills mainly kept pressure on sugar prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 slipped to Rs 3,180-3,350 and Rs 3,170-3,340 from previous levels of Rs 3,230-3,430 and Rs 3,220-3,420 per quintal, respectively.

Similarly mill delivery M-30 and S-30 eased to Rs 2,990-3,150 and Rs 2,980-3,140 against last close of Rs 2,990-3,240 and Rs 2,980-3,230 per quintal, respectively.
 

In the millgate section, Mawana, Kinnoni, Asmoli, Dorla and Budhana were also quoted lower at Rs 3,070, Rs 3,150, Rs 3,140, Rs 3,070 and Rs 3,070 instead of Rs 3,130, Rs 3,240, Rs 3,220, Rs 3,130 and Rs 3,140 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 29.00-36.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,180-3,350, S-30 Rs 3,170-3,340.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,990-3,150, S-30 Rs 2,980-3,140.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,070, Kinnoni Rs 3,150, Asmoli Rs 3,140, Dorala Rs 3,070, Budhana Rs 3,070, Thanabhavan Rs 3,060, Dhanora Rs 3,050, Simbholi Rs 3,140, Khatuli Rs 3,120, Dhampur Rs 3,050, Ramala Rs 3,000, Anupshaher Rs 2,990, Baghpat Rs 3,010, Morna Rs 3,010, Sakoti Rs 3,060, Chandpur Rs 3,040, Nazibabad Rs 2,990 and Malakpur Rs 3,020.
