Prices of select mills softened by Rs 5 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased selling by millers amid ample supplies.

Marketmen said persistent selling by stockists and millers coupled with adequate stocks position mainly led to the fall in the sweetener's prices.

However, scattered demand from bulk consumers limited the losses, they said.

In the millgate section, Mawana, Daurala and Simbholi traded lower by Rs 5 each to Rs 3,110, Rs 3,080 and Rs 3,130 per quintal.

Prices of Modinagar and Dhanora also shed Rs 5 each at Rs 3,070 and Rs 3,080 per quintal.
