Sugar declines on sluggish demand, ample supply

Sugar prices dropped Rs 30 per quintal at wholesale sugar market in the national capital today following subdued demand amid plenty of ready stocks.

Marketmen said fall in demand against heavy stocks position following persistent supplies from mills weighed on sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices slipped by Rs 20 each to finish at Rs 3,230-3,430 and Rs 3,210-3,410 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices declined by Rs 30 each to settle at Rs 3,105-3,290 and Rs 3,085-3,280 per quintal.

In millgate section, sugar modinagar lost Rs 30 to Rs 3,140 per quintal, while Budhana, Thanabhavan, Dhanora, Bulandshar and Chandpur surrendered Rs 25 each to Rs 3,155, Rs 3,145, Rs 3,125, Rs 3,115 and Rs 3,105 per quintal.
 

Prices of Mawana, Dhampur and Morana also fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,170, Rs 3,110 and Rs 3,160 per quintal.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,230-3,430, S-30 Rs 3,210-3,410.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,105-3,290; S-30 Rs 3,085-3280.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,170, Kinnoni 3,290, Asmoli 3,230, Dorala 3,180, Budhana 3,155, Thanabhavan 3,145, Dhanora 3,125, Simbholi 3,270, Modi Nagar Rs 3,140, Khatuli 3,260, Dhampur 3,110, Ramala 3,160, Bulandshar 3,115, Anupshar 3,130, Baghpat 3,170, Morna 3,160, Sakoti 3,130, Chandpur 3,105 and Nazibabad 3,140.
