Sugar eases on subdued demand

Prices of both varieties of sugar eased at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid lower millers offtake.

Small sugar (S-30) fell by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,002/3,125 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,002/3,135.

Medium sugar (M-30) moved down by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 3,141/3,282 as against Rs 3,146/3,282 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,002/3,125 (Rs 3,002/3,135).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,141/3,282 (Rs 3,146/3,282).
