Sugar prices edged up in the national capital today on scattered buying by bulk consumer to meet summer season demand.
However, millgate prices remained weak on adequate stocks position against lack of buying support.
Marketmen said mild demand from bulk consumers such as ice-cream and soft-drinks makers mainly helped sugar prices trade higher.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 edged up to Rs 2,700-2,840 and Rs 2,690-2,830 from previous levels of Rs 2,670-2,840 and Rs 2,660-2,830 per quintal, respectively.
Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 inched up to Rs 2,545-2,685 and Rs 2,535-2,675 from previous close of Rs 2,525-2,675 and Rs 2,515-2,665 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, in the millgate section, sugar Mawana, Kinnoni and Dorala were eased to Rs 2,585, Rs 2,685 and Rs 2,590 against last close of Rs 2,620, Rs 2,700 and Rs 2,620 per quintal, respectively on adequate supply.
Budhana, Thanabhavan, Dhanora and Simbholi were also enquired lower at Rs 2,585, Rs 2,575, Rs 2,580 and Rs 2,675 compared with previous levels of Rs 2,610, Rs 2,600, Rs 2,610 and Rs 2,680 per quintal, respectively.
