Sugar ends lower on ample supply

Sugar prices declined up to Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today mostly due to adequate stocks on persistent supplies by mills amidst reduced offtake by bulk consumers against adequate supplies from producing belts.

Marketmen said ample supplies on increased arrivals from millers against reduced offtake by by bulk consumers mainly led to the decline in sugar prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 eased to Rs 2,900-3,110 and Rs 2,890-3,100 against last close of Rs 2,900-3,120 and Rs 2,890-3,110 per quintal, respectively.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 slipped to Rs 2,800-2,960 and Rs 2,790-2,945 as compared to previous levels of Rs 2,800-2,970 and Rs 2,790-2,955 per quintal, respectively.
 

In the millgate section, Kinnoni, Asmoli and Budhana also enquired lower at Rs 2,960, Rs 2,900 and Rs 2,890 against last close of Rs 2,970, Rs 2,920 and Rs 2,900 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 30.00-34.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,900-3,110 S-30 Rs 2,890-3,100.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,800-2,960 S-30 Rs 2,790-2,945.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,900, Kinnoni Rs 2,960 Asmoli Rs 2,900 Dorala Rs 2,875 Budhana Rs 2,890 Thanabhavan Rs 2,890 Dhanora Rs 2,850 Simbholi Rs 2,970 Modi Nagar Rs 2,820, Khatuli Rs 2,950 Dhampur (gila) N.T.
