Sugar ends on a mixed note

A mixed trend prevailed in sugar prices at the wholesale market in the national capital with prices of select mills easing on increased supplies while a few others managed to close a shade higher on the back of increased demand from bulk consumers.

However, sugar spot prices remained steady at close after moving in a tight range.

In millgate section, sugar Mawana dropped by 15 paise to Rs 33.10 per kilo, while Budhana, Dorala and Simbholi eased by 10 paise to Rs 32.90, Rs 33.30 and Rs 33.70 per kilo, respectively.

On the other hand, prices of Asmoli traded 15 paise higher at Rs 33.30 per kg, while Dhampur and Ramala gained 10 paise each at Rs 32.70 and Rs 32.90 per kilo, respectively.
 

Meanwhile, sugar prices in retail markets remained unchanged at Rs 38.00-39.00 per kilo.
