Sugar extends losses on increased supply

Sugar prices extended losses at the wholesale market today on adequate stocks positions on increased supplies from millers against lack of worthwhile buying support.

Marketmen said adequate stocks positions on increased supplies from millers against reduced offtake mainly kept pressure on sugar prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 fell further to Rs 2,780-3,040 and Rs 2,750-3,010 against last close of Rs 2,800-3,050 and Rs 2,770-3,020 per quintal respectively.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 eased to Rs 2,680-2,890 and Rs 2,670-2,830 from previous close of Rs 2,700-2,910 and Rs 2,690-2,850 per quintal respectively.

In the millgate section, Thanabhavan, Bulandshar, Anupshahr and Bhaghpat were also quoted lower at Rs 2,810, Rs 2,730, Rs 2,690 and Rs 2,730 instead of Rs 2,840, Rs 2,775, Rs 2750 and Rs 2760 per quintal respectively. Chandpur and Nazibabad eased to Rs 2,690 and Rs 2,700 against last close of Rs 2,725 and Rs 2,760 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 30.00-34.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,780-3,040 S-30 Rs 2,750-3,010.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,680-2,890 S-30 Rs 2,670-2,830.
