Sugar falls on weak demand, heavy supply

Sugar prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today following slackness in demand at higher levels amid selling from mills.

Marketmen said absence of demand at existing higher levels, sparked by selling pressure by mills, mainly pulled down sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices dropped from Rs 3,450- 3,650 and Rs 3,440-3,640 to settle at Rs 3,400-3,600 and Rs 3,390-3,590 per quintal.

Similarly mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices slipped from Rs 3,390-3,540 and Rs 3,380-3,530 to finish at Rs 3,290-3,480 and Rs 3,280-3,470 per quintal.

Among millgate, including duty section, sugar mawana lost Rs 90 at Rs 3,310 per quintal, while Kinnoni, Budhana and Thanabhavan dropped by Rs 60 each at Rs 3,480, Rs 3,420 and Rs 3,410 per quintal.
 

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,400-3,600, S-30 Rs 3,390-3,590.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,290-3,480; S-30 Rs 3,270-3,470.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,310, Kinnoni 3,480, Asmoli 3,450, Dorala 3,410, Budhana 3,420, Thanabhavan 3,410, Dhanora 3,440, Simbholi 3,480, Modi Nagar Rs 3,270, Khatuli 3,480, Dhampur 3,350, Ramala 3,400, Bulandshar 3,430, Anupshar 3,370, Baghpat 3,410, Morna 3,400, Sakoti 3,350, Chandpur 3,410, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 3,390.
