Sugar prices fell by 0.34 per cent to Rs 3,526 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions amid adequate stocks position on increased supplies at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, sugar for delivery in October declined by Rs 12, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 3,526 per quintal, with an open interest of 120 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders, triggered by sufficient stocks position on higher supplies from mills in the physical market against low demand, mainly weighed on sugar prices at futures trade.
