Sugar mill gate prices fall on steady supply, low demand

Sugar mill gate prices eased by up to Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today due to ample stocks following sustained supplies from mills amid scattered offtake.

Marketmen said stock surplus following regular supplies from mills amid reduced offtake by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers kept mill gate prices lower for the second straight day.

Besides, reports that the government might consider sugar import to check sweetener prices to meet coming festive season demand weighed on prices, they added.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices moved down further by Rs 15 each to end at Rs 3,160-3,825 and Rs 3,150-3,815 per quintal.
 

In the millgate section, sugar Kinnoni dropped by Rs 15 to Rs 3,825 and Asmoli, Dorala, Budhana, Dhanora and Sakoti by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,755, Rs 3,730, Rs 3,725, Rs 3,710 and Rs 3,690 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 42.00-46.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 4,000-4,100, S-30 Rs 3,990-4,090.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,660-3,825, S-30 Rs 3,650-3,815.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs N.Q., Kinnoni Rs 3,825, Asmoli Rs 3,755, Dorala Rs 3,730, Budhana Rs 3,725, Thanabhavan Rs 3,720, Dhanora Rs 3,710, Simbholi Rs 3,820, Khatuli Rs 3,790, Dhampur Rs 3,720, Ramala Rs 3,670, Anupshaher Rs 3,655, Baghpat Rs 3,685, Morna Rs 3,670, Sakoti Rs 3,690, Chandpur Rs 3,690, Nazibabad Rs 3,660, Modinagar N.Q., Shamli 3,710 and Nanota 3,665.
