Sugar mill prices decline on higher supply, weak demand

Sugar mill gate prices drifted lower by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today owing to weak demand amid ample stocks on increased supplies.

Marketmen said reduced offtake by stockists and bulk consumers due to approaching of month end coupled with persistent supplies from mills, mainly weighed on sugar mills prices.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 30 each to settle the day at Rs 3,620-3,780 and Rs 3,610-3,770 per quintal.

In the mill gate section, sugar Kinnoni, Ramala and Nanota dipped by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,780, Rs 3,640 and Rs 3,630 per quintal.
 

Prices of Anupshaher and Baghpat also fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,620 and Rs 3,645 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets - Rs 39.00-43.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 4,000-4,100, S-30 Rs 3,990-4,090.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,620-3,780, S-30 Rs 3,610-3,770.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs N.Q., Kinnoni Rs 3,780, Asmoli Rs 3,770, Dorala Rs 3,760, Budhana Rs 3,750, Thanabhavan Rs 3,745, Dhanora Rs 3,750, Simbholi Rs N.Q, Khatuli Rs 3,770, Dhampur Rs 3,710, Ramala Rs 3,640, Anupshaher Rs 3,620, Baghpat Rs 3,645, Morna Rs 3,640, Sakoti Rs 3,710, Chandpur Rs 3,675, Nazibabad Rs 3,630, Modinagar N.Q., Shamli 3,720 and Nanota 3,630.
