Select sugar millgate prices edged lower by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following ample position of ready stocks on persistent supplies from mills amid reduced offtake by stockists and bulk consumers.

Marketmen said steady inflow of supplies from mills coupled with reduced offtake by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drinks, ice-creams and sweet makers, mainly led to the fall in sweetener prices.

In the millgate section, sugar Baghpat and morna prices softened by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,580 and Rs 3,570 per quintal.
