Sugar millgate prices remain down

Sugar millgate prices dropped by up to Rs 40 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following persistent supplies amid limited demand.

Marketmen said persistent supplies from mills along mainly kept pressure on the sweetener prices but scattered demand from bulk consumers, limited the losses.

In millgate section, sugar Budhana and Thanabhavan lost Rs 40 each at Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,990, while Dhanora and Dhampur fell Rs 30 each at Rs 2,960 and Rs 2,970 per quitnal.

Sugar Mawana, Ramala, Anupshaher, Baghpat, Nazibabad and Malakpur also slipped by Rs 20 each at Rs 3,010, Rs 3,020, Rs 3,010, Rs 3,030, Rs 3,010 and Rs 2,985 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 29.00-36.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,200-3,330, S-30 Rs 3,190-3,320.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,950-3,080, S-30 Rs 2,940-3,070.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,010, Kinnoni Rs 3,080, Asmoli Rs 3,040, Dorala Rs 3,010, Budhana Rs 3,000, Thanabhavan Rs 2,990, Dhanora Rs 2,960, Simbholi Rs 3,060, Khatuli Rs 3,060, Dhampur Rs 2,970, Ramala Rs 3,020, Anupshaher Rs 3,010, Baghpat Rs 3,030, Morna Rs 3,030, Sakoti Rs 2,990, Chandpur Rs 2,950, Nazibabad Rs 3,010 and Malakpur Rs 2,985.
