Sugar millgate prices up as demand picked up

Sugar millgate prices edged higher by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased buying by stockists and bulk consumers coupled with higher mill rates.

Marketmen said apart from pick up in buying by bulk consumers and stockists, higher rates quoted by some mills, mainly led to the rise in sugar mill gate prices.

Closures of some mills which had already sold out their stocks, too influenced sentiments, they said.

In millgate section, sugar Dhanora rose Rs 30 at Rs 2,490 per quintal, while Khatuli, Dhampur and Dorala gained by Rs 20 each at Rs 2,620, Rs 2,460 and Rs 2,530 per quintal.
 

Prices of Kinnoni, Budhana, Thanabhavan and Sakoti were by Rs 10 each at Rs 2,630, Rs 2,510, Rs 2,500 and Rs 2,470 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 27.00-32.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,630-2,780 S-30 Rs 2,620-2,770.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,440-2,640 S-30 Rs 2,430-2,630.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs Not Quoted, Kinnoni Rs 2,630, Asmoli Rs 2,630, Dorala Rs 2,530, Budhana Rs 2,510, Thanabhavan Rs 2,500, Dhanora Rs 2,490, Simbholi Rs 2,625, Khatuli Rs 2,620, Dhampur 2,460, Ramala Rs 2,470, Bulandshaher Rs N.Q, Anupshaher Rs 2,450, Baghpat Rs 2,480, Morna Rs 2,480, Sakoti Rs 2,470, Chandpur Rs N.Q, Nazibabad Rs 2,460 and Malakpur N.Q.
