Sugar millgate prices edged higher by up to Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today largely supported by increased buying by stockists and bulk consumers.
Marketmen said besides restricted supplies from mills, increased buying by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers, mainly boosted sweetener prices.
In the millgate section, sugar Simbholi rose by Rs 30 to Rs 3,620, Khatuli by Rs 20 to Rs 3,610 and Mawana and Asmoli by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,600 and Rs 3,590 per quintal.
