Sugar millgate trades up on brisk demand

Sugar millgate prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal on brisk demand from stockists for the ongoing marriage season.

Marketmen said government's approval of a subsidy for export of raw sugar for February and March mainly kept millgate prices higher for the second day.

Among millgate section, sugar Mawana, Budhana and Thanabhavan spurted by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,935, Rs 2,940 and Rs 2,935 per quintal.

Prices of Modinagar and Dorla also surged by Rs 30 each to Rs 2,915 and Rs 2,950 per quintal.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,960-3,250, S-30 Rs 2,950-3,240.
 

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,770-3,090; S-30 Rs 2,760-3,080.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 2935, Kinnoni 3,090, Asmoli 3,060, Dorala 2950, Budhana 2940, Thanabhavan 2935, Dhanora 2900, Simbholi 3,060, Modi Nagar Rs 2,915, Khatuli 3,060, Dhampur 2,870, Ramala 2,820, Bulandshar 2,885, Anupshar 2,770, Baghpat 2,820, Morna 2,820, Sakoti 2,860, Chandpur 2,835, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 2,810.
