Sugar moves up as government approves subsidy

Sugar prices surged by Rs 30 per quintal in the national capital today on increased stockists buying after government allowing subsidy for export.

Marketmen said sentiment improved as government approved a subsidy on export of raw sugar for February and March.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices rose by Rs 30 to Rs 2,960-3,250 and Rs 2,950-3,240 per quintal and mill delivery M-30 and S-30 gained by Rs 20 to end at Rs 2,770-3,090 and Rs 2,760-3,080 per quintal, respectively.

In millgate section, sugar Mawana, Asmoli and Kinnoni rose by Rs 20 each at Rs 2,885, Rs 3,060 and Rs 3,090 per quintal. Prices of Modinagar, Ramala, Anupshar, Baghpat and Morana also improved by Rs 20 each at Rs 2,885, Rs 2,820, Rs 2,875 and Rs 2,820 per quintal.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,960-3,250, S-30 Rs 2,950-3,240.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,770-3,090; S-30 Rs 2,760-3,080.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 2885, Kinnoni 3,090, Asmoli 3,060, Dorala 2920, Budhana 2885, Thanabhavan 2880, Dhanora 2880, Simbholi 3,050, Modi Nagar Rs 2,885, Khatuli 3,055, Dhampur 2,870, Ramala 2,820, Bulandshar 2,865, Anupshar 2,770, Baghpat 2,820, Morna 2,820, Sakoti 2,860, Chandpur 2,835, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 2,810.
