Sugar prices firmed up by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today following brisk buying support amid thin supply from mills.
Market players said increased demand from stockists, retailers and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers due to ongoing summer season amid steep fall in supply, mainly pushed up sweetener prices.
Fall in output was the main reason behind price fall in sugar, they added.
